Dubai, UAE - The Roads and
Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has officially implemented a new service for
pre-booking vehicle inspection appointments through its smart app (RTA Dubai)
or via its website (www.rta.ae). This service is now mandatory at all technical
inspection centers across the emirate. For those who prefer to visit without a
prior booking, an optional service is available at 19 centers for an additional
fee of 100 AED. Details of the New ServiceAccording to the announcement shared
by the RTA on its social media platforms, the pre-booking service for vehicle
inspections will also be available at 8 additional centers. However, the

Initiative: RTA aims to enhance the quality of this vital service, which
benefits a large segment of the population, and to improve customer satisfaction

for vehicle inspections. The results from a six-month pilot phase of the
initiative showed a significant reduction in the average waiting time for
inspections at the Al Qusais and Al Barsha centers, with a decrease of
approximately 46%. Additionally, there was a 15% reduction in the occupancy
rate for actual vehicle inspection transactions compared to the total available
capacity. Expected BenefitsThe RTA anticipates several benefits from the
implementation of this initiative across most technical inspection centers,
including: Saving time and effort for customersReducing waiting times at
inspection centers by approximately 40%Improving occupancy rates, especially in
centers where occupancy has exceeded 80%Exemptions for Specific GroupsThe
pre-booking system is mandatory for all categories of customers and vehicles,
except for vehicles belonging to people of determination and senior citizens
who are citizens and residents registered in Dubai. These individuals are not
required to book an appointment in advance for any vehicle inspection services,
reflecting the RTA's commitment to facilitating services for these two groups.
